Glock 19 Custom Gun and Mods by Glockworx.com

Custom Gunsmithing done on a Gen 3 Glock 19. Grip Reduction, undercut, grip job, aftermarket trigger by Glock Worx, internal magwell. & More

Glocks are widely known for their “perfection”. Heck, they call it “Glock Perfection”. They’re always knocked on their tag line every time they come out with a fix, or a new generation. The fact of the matter is that Glocks are not perfect for everyone. Simply because no one is perfect. I’m definitely not perfect, and for that reason, I had my Gen 3 Glock 19 shipped out to my buddy Ray over at GlockWorx.

First things first. I’m a small guy, 5’6″ 155lbs. My hands are not large. I wear size small gloves if you really have to know. Glock pistols are notorious for having big fat grips. While it was manageable in it’s stock form, I had the grip reduced ever so slightly, and had the finger grooves removed. You’ll also see that there was a single undercut on the bottom rear of the trigger guard. This allows me to get higher up on the grip, resulting in a lower bore axis. Glocks come with a very low bore axis already, but this just helps out a little more. The grip was then coated with silicone carbide, the same kind of stuff you’ll find on skateboard grip tape. It’s essentially like low-grit sand paper. It’s safe to say that I will never let my Glock slip out of my hands. The only downside of this is that it is not ideal for conceal carry. The silicone carbide bites onto anything it touches and hangs on. This means your shirt, jacket, sweater, whatever garment you’re using to keep the Glock hidden. When using it IWB with a Comp-Tac Minotaur M-TAC holster, it bunches up my shirt, and reveals itself during a lot of movement. Again, not ideal, but still manageable if you’re mindful. Many people ask me if it chews up my hands. I’m a man, so no, it does not chew up my hands. If you have girly hands and moisturize daily, this may not be the thing for you.

GlockWorx also created an internal magwell with a little bit of epoxy putty and some elbow grease. This allows easier reloads and no chance of the magazine getting stuck on the infamous hole found in the frames.  Some claim the hole is to allow dirt and debris to fall out from inside of the gun. I say that’s pretty stupid since it is more likely for something to get INTO the gun via the bottom of the gun, through a hole nearly an inch wide, than through the thin slits between the frame and slide. The edges of the magwell have also been shaved out a little more to eliminate the lips on the standard Glock grip. It works much better than the Glock Plug that is widely available, and it also allows you to get a thumb in there to yank out the magazine if it is ever stuck in a malfunction.

This Glock 19 is also outfitted with the GlockWorx Zev Tech Fulcrum Ultimate Trigger Kit. These are hands down the BEST aftermarket triggers available for any Glock pistol. Use it for duty, use it for competition, use it for self defense, this trigger is ideal for any application. The kit comes with the Fulcrum trigger, lightened striker spring, and skeletonized striker. This allows the gun to cycle mechanically faster, and allows for a super light and smooth trigger break. Externally, the Fulcrum Trigger still features the Glock style trigger safety, but the trigger itself is made out of aluminum. The face of the trigger is flat, so it feels more natural than the serrated rounded stock Glock trigger. The trigger has a very, very short trigger reset, and has nearly no pre-travel. The reset is reminiscent of the stock trigger. It can be acknowledged via tactile feedback and audibly.  You’ll also notice that the magazine release is different. This is a prototype of their ZEV Tech CCW Magazine Release. This is a reduced profile release that releases the magazine quickly, but is recessed a bit closer to the frame for CCW purposes. I swapped this back out for an extended release since my Glock 19 is now primarily my competition and range gun.

Overall, the gun fits much better in my hand, the trigger is much cleaner and smoother, defintely lighter. I’ve gone through several thousand rounds through it since it was modified, and it runs just as reliably as any other G19. See the before and after pics below!

Randy to your question glock has two safety the first is built into the trigger second safety is what is called a primary safety it is your finger glock has no external safety that is why the 19 23 26 43 are ideal for concealed carry thanks and good shooting
